Actor Babil Khan has officially announced his exit from the upcoming film directed by Sai Rajesh, which is a remake of the movie Baby. This decision comes after Babil faced backlash for his recent social media comments. Both Babil and Sai Rajesh took to Instagram to share their statements regarding the end of their collaboration, attributing it to 'unforeseen circumstances.'
In his post, Babil expressed appreciation for his time working with Sai Rajesh, stating, 'With a lot of grit, passion, and mutual respect, Sai Rajesh sir and I both got along on this journey of creating magic together. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, things didn’t proceed as planned.'
He also mentioned that he would be taking a break and extended his best wishes to Sai Rajesh and the film crew, saying, 'Since I will be taking some time off currently, I wish the best to Sai Rajesh sir and the film team on their future journey. I know there is immense love between us, and we will meet soon in the future and create magic together.'
Sai Rajesh's Response and Future Aspirations
Sai Rajesh praised Babil in his own Instagram post, calling him 'one of the most talented and hardworking actors' he has encountered. He expressed disappointment over the situation, saying, 'Babil is one of the most talented and hardworking actors I have met in my life. However, I have to accept this unfortunate reality of the situation. After spending time with Babil while prepping, I was very happy to be working with such a talented actor... I will miss my Hero!'
He also expressed hope for future collaboration, stating, 'I respect his decision of self-care first, and wish him all the best and send him all the love in the future! I know we both will create that magic together for sure.'
Controversy Surrounding Babil's Comments
The controversy erupted when a video surfaced of Babil expressing his frustrations about the film industry, stating, 'Bollywood is so f****, Bollywood is so rude.' In the clip, he mentioned several names, including Shanaya Kapoor and Ananya Panday, leading many to believe he was criticizing them. Following the backlash, Babil deleted his Instagram account, which heightened concerns. He later clarified that his comments were misinterpreted and that he intended to praise, not criticize, his peers.
In response, Sai Rajesh released a lengthy note questioning the attitude displayed by Babil and his team, saying, 'To Babil Khan’s team. Do you really think we’re that naive to just walk away silently? What kind of attitude are we being subjected to?' He emphasized that respect should be extended to all, not just those mentioned in Babil's video.
Babil's Commitment to the Project
In the comments, Babil shared how dedicated he was to the film, stating, 'I gave two years of my life to the film and did physical atrocity to my body to do justice to the character.' He elaborated on the sacrifices he made, including enduring difficult living conditions and emotional struggles. 'I gave him my laughter while I held back my tears. I slit my f****** wrist for him.'
